Our Cleaning Process

Rug Cleaning Ottawa

We Use a 9 Step Process to Ensure Your Rugs Return to You in Super Clean and Fresh.

  1. Inspection

We will conduct a comprehensive inspection of each rug to spot stains, damages, discolorations, and special customer requests. We meticulously check the fibres, fringes, colour, and underpadding. Each rug is then tagged in our system according to its material, size, and origin.

  2. Dusting

One of the most important steps when cleaning a rug is proper dusting. Without dusting the rug thoroughly, dust particles and allergens will stay inside even after washing and drying. Our computer-controlled dusting machine ensures all dust particles are extracted. Our air suction filtration system transfers particles to a dust compartment that is cleaned daily.

  3. Pre-treatment

Each rug is handled with a safe and eco-friendly dual solution of soap and treatment, pre-treating the rug before machine washing. This dual solution is applied by pressure washing to soften and break down the dissolved minerals that accumulate over time. Washing your rugs yearly prevents these hard mineral deposits from harming their health and value.

  4. Manual Wash

Our area rug technicians use powerful pressure washers to loosen up fibers and extract dirt from deep within your rug. This is followed by extensive rinsing with fresh water.

  5. Machine Wash

Next, the rugs are machine-washed to ensure a thorough wash on each rug. Each rug is gently scrubbed by a line of soft brush pads that deep clean and completely remove remaining mineral deposits and stains. The excess eco-friendly soap and water are filtered through our drainage system. Our machine ensures that your rug is properly washed, including rug pile and fringes, without damaging your rug in the process.

  6. Draining

Your rug is rolled up and then put into our centrifuge machine. In the centrifuge, all the remaining water and moisture are completely drained from it, ensuring that no dyes stain it and that your rug keeps its natural colors and texture.

  7. Drying

After the machine wrings out 90% of the water, the rugs are immediately sent up to our drying room to remove the water from the fibers of the rug. Leaving rugs moist for too long can cause color run and unwanted mold and bacteria buildup. Our enclosed climate-controlled drying room is equipped with a dozen industrial fans that filter circulated air and maintain low humidity, creating the ideal ecosystem to dry your rugs properly.

  8. Final Inspection

After spending 12 hours in the drying room, our lab technicians perform a final inspection to ensure quality control. The technician takes their time inspecting every inch of the rug, recording and photographing the results. Each rug is lightly airbrushed to recondition and remove loose fiber from your rugs.

  9. Packaging/Shipping

Packaging is part of our Quality Control and final inspection process. Once the carpet is fully approved by QC, it is carefully hand-lifted onto a special winding table. This table electronically rolls the rug while wrapping it in a thick, protective plastic cover. Note that this is not an airtight seal, so rugs should not be stored in damp environments. Customers are advised to remove the packaging immediately upon receipt.
